The Continuing Clinic Construction

We walk by this construction job two or three times a day so they are used to us greeting them and taking photos.  What fascinates us about this project is that it hasn't stopped.  We are aware of other construction projects that had started well and then just stopped.  This one just keeps going.

We noticed this big cement pump from afar as we made our way to the temple.

It was making a delivery of cement to "our" clinic.

We are not sure why the dug this channel, poured cement,
and then covered it with dirt after putting up the wall on the side.

No Hard Hats Here!

We walked by the clinic construction site again and they had received another shipment of styrofoam blocks and Paul asked why they used them.

We were invited to walk inside the building under construction to see for ourselves.  They slice the styrofoam and use wire nets to keep them in place in the ceiling overhead where the stryrofoam and cement made a distinct pattern.  The workmen said the ceiling isn’t so heavy when stryrofoam replaces the cement.  True.  They think it is still sturdy without so much cement.

We didn't need to wear hard hats and no one seemed to care that we were wandering around the construction zone

The Clinic is Up to Two Floors

 January 8, 2015
We have no idea how or why they would use so many styrofoam blocks.
This photo shows only a small fraction of the blocks piled and ready to use.

The cement truck came with its big boom to pour the layer
that will be the floor of the second story.

This guy walks up and down the ramp all day long
to deliver the blocks to those building the walls.

They are continually getting massive deliveries of cinder blocks.

Construction of The Clinic

In October we began to take photos of what we thought was a new house being built but it turns out that it is to be a clinic and it will be three stories high.  We continue to take photos and we are amazed that a large group of men are at work every day and the building is certainly progressing.

How to Build a House - part 1

First you have to find the perfect lot and this might take some imagination.  Cut down any huge trees and remove vegetation that isn't needed in your house plans.

Hire a backhoe driver to clear away all of the excess matter that will be hauled away in big dump trucks.  Make sure the driver knows to clear the lot all the way down to the soil.

......to be continued............actually...they have since added a shed to the lot.......
