Why We Do What We Do.

Recently, I listened to a podcast of the 24 January 2012 BYU Forum speaker whose talk I really enjoyed.  The speaker was Mark DeMoss and his message was titled "Life's 2 Big Questions."   He is a Christian and speaks of Christian values.  He shared with us how his Dad had taught him how to put God first in his life with these few words.

We put God first in our lives by giving Him
(1) the first part of every week.
(2) the first part of every day.
(3) the first dime of every dollar.

That thought seems to give a reason for why we do what we do.  It sounds so much better than thinking:

I HAVE to go to keep the Sabbath Day holy.
I HAVE to study scriptures.
I HAVE to pay tithing.
